Financing

For larger jobs, financing through a third-party lender may be available to homeowners who qualify. Terms, rates and approval are set by the lender, not by us, and we show you the terms before you sign anything. Ask about it on the inspection.

Before you finance

• Compare the total you'll pay over the loan, not just the monthly figure.
• Check whether promotional rates change after a set period.
• Ask whether there is a penalty for paying early.

Ways to lower the total

Fix the walls that leak rather than the whole perimeter, correct gutters and grading first, and choose interior drainage over excavation where the wall is sound. The cost guide explains what moves the number.

Insurance

Whether a policy helps depends on the policy and the cause; groundwater seepage, surface flooding and sewer backup are often treated differently. Your agent can tell you what your policy covers. We document what we find.
